CASE STUDY
Initial Survey for Upgraded 1985 Traditional Lobster Boat
Seapremacy is a 17.5-meter traditional lobster boat designed in 1985. A new owner purchased the vessel and engaged ADEC Kedge surveyors and naval architects to conduct all necessary surveys and assessments to achieve a new Certificate of Survey (CoS) to operate commercially, issued by AMSA.
Surveys completed by ADEC Kedge included:
- Commissioning Survey
- Initial Electrical Survey
- Initial Engineering Survey
- Initial Fire Systems and Fit out Materials Survey
- Initial Fuel Tank Survey
- Initial Hull Structure Survey
- Initial Lightship Check or Inclining Survey
- Draft Mark Survey
- Initial Shaft Survey
- Watertight and Weathertight Integrity Survey
- Plan Approval Survey
- Stability Assessment
With a new CoS, the owner plans to operate Seapremacy as a commercial lobster boat on the west coast of Tasmania.
