David started his association with the sea as a marine engineer cadet with the ANL in 1981 and, until recently, has followed a career as an engineer in the Australian shipping and oil and gas industries. Working on many international and coastal vessels, FPSOs and, most recently, oil rig supply and anchor handling vessels.
With 10 years as a chief engineer under his belt, David holds a 1st Class AMSA Engineer Certificate of Competency in Motor and Steam. He also has a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate qualifications in maintenance management.
With the recent downturn in the oil and gas industry, the opportunity for a change of career arose. David is pleased to still be able to utilise his skills in a related industry sector as an AMSA Accredited Surveyor with Kedge.
