Based in Adelaide covering South Australia (Adelaide, River Murray, the South East and Port Lincoln) and the West Coast.
I did my apprenticeship with Adelaide Steamship in their shipyard at Port Adelaide as marine fitter and turner before going away to sea as a marine engineer. Over the years sailing around the world on different ships I studied for my Chief Engineer Certificate. Returning to Australia I worked as an engineer and later as superintendent for two tug companies. I joined the Department of Transport as a Marine Surveyor, Engineer Examiner and Member of the Crewing Committee. During this time I surveyed many types of vessels, fishing boats, prawn trawlers, houseboats, tugs, car ferries and oyster punts. I was involved in plan approvals, new build inspection, incline measurement, periodic survey and extra low voltage initial surveys. I travelled all over South Australia and interstate to do the surveys but my main area was based in Port Lincoln servicing the Eyre Peninsula. I returned to working on ships for a short time, but am now working with Kedge as an Accredited AMSA Marine Surveyor in South Australia. I live on a small farm in the Adelaide Hills with my wife Denise.
