I was approached to join Kedge Marine Surveyors as a Trainee Marine Surveyor and, of course, I jumped at the opportunity to work with the fresh local team. I grew up on the River Derwent sailing on the Lady Nelson and operating rescue boats for a local sailing club. This lead to me attending the Australian Maritime College and obtaining my Unlimited Deck Watchkeeper’s ticket. I still work as the Second Navigational Deck Officer on an Australian crewed cargo vessel on the North Queensland Coast. Along the way I have gained my Master Class Four and have been voluntarily operating as a Master of the Lady Nelson for a few years now. I am very excited for the opportunity to work with the Kedge team and gain more experience and knowledge so I can effectively work and support fellow Tasmanians.
